One such scheme is the provision of one-off Business Support Grants to small business in the area to help them grow by acquiring, or improving, accommodation, equipment or skills.
Terzo Digital applied for such a grant in 2015 and we were delighted when the application was approved. The award made a significant contribution to Terzo’s investment in new IT equipment, giving the team access to cutting edge capability and performance, and it allows us to develop a full range of software applications.
Neil Tubman of Terzo Digital described the effect of the grant on the business:
“This grant will really help our business to buy IT equipment which is essential to providing high quality software services, including mobile application development, to our customers. We aim to serve local businesses and we hope to repay the faith the council have shown in us by growing our contribution to the local economy.”
Cllr Eddy Humphreys, Executive Member for Economy and Jobs for Reigate & Banstead Borough Council described the scheme, and its effects on local small businesses:
“Over 90% of the borough’s businesses employ fewer than ten people. In recognition of the vital role these small business play in the local economy, we have developed a range of initiatives to help them to thrive. Our Business Support Grants is one such scheme, which has so far provided funding to 60 new start-ups and micro-businesses who can often find it difficult to get the finance they need to grow their businesses.”
