Introducing Azent at the WITS Plugfest
During mid-June 2024, we attended a WITS Plugfest. The plugfests are hosted by different members of the WITS-PSAC and this time Schneider Electric kindly held the plugfest at their offices in Coventry. The plugfest was attended by a number of vendors and users from within the WITS community.
The session offered vendors a chance to test their products against other vendors’ products. This particular WITS plugfest covered both the WITS-DNP3 protocol and the new Lucid protocol. Having direct contact with the developers of other products can be very beneficial as it allows interoperability issues between products to be quickly addressed and fixed and allows the group to investigate and resolve issues with the protocol standards.
Terzo Digital have been developing a product called Azent which provides a software stack that implements the Lucid protocol and can be incorporated into a vendor’s Field Device product. Recently Azent was released at version 1 which supports version 1 of the Lucid protocol. Terzo took the opportunity at this plugfest to promote Azent and its availability. We explained a little of what was now available to the meeting:
- Azent is available in three versions:
- Premium – With everything included.
- Standard – With configuration, time keeping and other Lucid functions included.
- Basic – A very simple implementation which is available for free and introduces a vendor to the stack and how it works.
- Our website includes information on Azent.
- We are busily working on version 2 of Azent to match the Lucid protocol version 2, and to add other features.
If you are interested in accelerating your adoption of Lucid, please talk to us about what is possible with Azent and how it could be included in your Field Device product.
We also shared some tasty cakes with everyone to celebrate the fact that 2024 is Terzo Digital’s 10th year in business. At the end of July 2014 Terzo Digital came into being and we have been lucky enough in that time to have worked with some great people in the water, OT and security worlds. A big thank you from both of us for all your support and we look forward to the next 10 years.
